Applications being accepted for appointment to boards, commissions

Edina, Minn., Nov. 12, 2008 – The Edina City Council is accepting applications for 2009 appointments to its advisory boards and commissions.

Advisory boards and commissions with anticipated vacancies include Art Center Board, Board of Appeal & Equalization, Construction Board of Appeals, Energy & Environment Commission, Heritage Preservation Board, Human Rights & Relations Commission, Park Board, Planning Commission, Transportation Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals and Adjustments. Most volunteer positions are three-year terms

Most advisory boards include student representatives. Student appointments are one-year terms. Applications for student appointments will be accepted in the spring. Those terms will begin in the fall of 2009 after the start of the 2009-2010 school year.

All of the appointments must be approved by the Edina City Council. Applications must be received at Edina City Hall by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23. Appointments will be made in early 2009.
