Edina 16 receives 'Savvy' Award
Edina, Minn., Oct. 28, 2008 --
The City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA) recently
announced that Edina Community Channel 16’s video promoting the 2008 Taste
of Edina won a Savvy Award from the organization. EDINA 16’s monthly talk
show, “In Edina,” received a Silver Circle Award in the 2008 national
competition.
The awards were announced Oct. 23 during an
evening ceremony at 3CMA’s 20th-annual conference in Reno, Nev. EDINA 16
received first-place in the “Promotional Video” category of the competition
for cities and counties with a population of 14,000 to 52,500. Palm Beach
Gardens, Fla., received a second-place Silver Circle for its video. Castle
Rock, Colo., received a third-place Award of Excellence for its video.
Of the video scripted
by Communications Coordinator Marty Doll and produced by Steve Christiansen,
the judges said, “Well done. Impressed by production in house. Creative
concept that had good footage, appropriate amount of time, motivates people
to attend event.”
EDINA 16 received a Silver Circle for “In
Edina” in the “Interview/Talk Show” category for cities and counties with a
population of 30,000 to 388,000. Rockville, Md., received first-place for
“Rebirth of Town Center,” and Durham, N.C., received third for “City Life.”
“In Edina,” introduced in the fall of 2006, is hosted by Lillian McDonald
and produced by Nathalie Gage.
According to the written comments from
judges, “In Edina” is “very professionally shot. Likeable host. Great idea
to take the
program ‘on location.’ Flow of the interview
very good. Quality of
video and b-roll are excellent. Content
was interesting.”
“In Edina” airs on EDINA 16 10 a.m. and 7
p.m. Mondays, 5 p.m. Fridays, noon Saturdays and noon Sundays.
