Garbage

The City does not pick up brush, yard waste or any other kind of
refuse. There are five licensed
refuse haulers for the City of Edina, with which residents must privately
contract for garbage-pick-up. They are:
-
Aspen Waste Systems,
612-884-8000
-
Allied Waste, 952-941-5174
- Vierkant Disposal,
612-922-2505
- Waste Management,
952-890-1100
- Suburban Waste Service, 952-937-8900
Garbage containers
should be set out by the house or garage or at the curb by 7 a.m. on pickup day. After collection, containers must be stored out of
view from the front street.
The City does not
pick up compost, tree branches or other yard waste. There are compost and
tree branch disposal drop-off sites in the area. Most of those drop-off
sites charge a fee. Yard waste is the only refuse that can be placed at or
near the curb for collection. Bags of brush and yard waste may be placed
at the curb no more than 12 hours prior to collection. Grass and leaves
cannot be raked into the street.
If you have questions about disposing of problem waste such as paint, propane gas
tanks or florescent light bulbs, visit the Hennepin County Environmental
Services
website.
