CITY OF EDINA
PARK AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
PLAYGROUND LEADER

 

The City of Edina is accepting applications for the position of Playground Leader, who will work from mid-June to the end of July. Responsible for providing recreation programs in neighborhood parks for youths ages 4 to 12.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work scheduled hours at various park locations. 

  • Assist co-leaders in creating themed events to engage participants.

  • Ensure safe environment for participants at all times.

  • Attend and participate in staff trainings and meetings.

  • Communicate information with co-leaders, parents and supervisors about the program and participants.

  • Solve problems by using co-leaders, parents and supervisors as resources.

  • Complete necessary forms and program evaluations. 

  • Follow City of Edina policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Applicants must be 17 years of age with good leadership and communication skills, experience working with children in structured programs and the ability to independently get to program locations as needed. Preferred candidates will have experience working with children in a recreation setting; completed course work in elementary education, child development or recreation programming and First Aid/CPR Certification.
 

Starting wage is approximately $8.48-$10.52 per hour.
